The Rev. Emily R. Hyberg

In May 2024, Emily Hyberg completed her Master of Divinity at CDSP in Berkeley, where she was the residential student body president and worked in the campus chapel. She is passionate about exploring the ways that people make meaning, the vital role of the Church in the 21st century, and how to build inclusive and Spirit-filled communities.

Emily grew up in Maryland and attended high school and college in West Virginia. After beginning her career in local government, Emily shifted to the non-profit field, where she spent nearly ten years working in operations, fundraising, and finance. She moved to Sacramento with her wife, Connie, and their cat, Muppet, in late 2017. Before heading to seminary, Emily was the executive director of The Belfry in Davis, CA.

In her free time, Emily enjoys reading, drinking tea, and learning to embroider. She is a fan of Jimmy Buffett, baseball, gardening, Scottish Gaelic, and collecting Eighth Doctor Doctor Who novels.
