The Rev. Christy Laborda Harris

The Reverend Christy Laborda Harris has been rector of St. Stephen’s, Sebastopol California since 2011. She graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2007 with her Master in Divinity. Her first two calls were as vicar of Latino missions.

Under Christy’s leadership, St. Stephen’s has developed its land creating an outdoor worship space, a 40-foot outdoor Chartres style labyrinth, a food forest and welcome gate, a naturalistic children’s play area, and a commercial kitchen building. She and the congregation are currently working to open The Playground Café where the wider community will be invited to gather and break bread together as children play, deep conversations are had, and relationships are built.

Christy grew up outside Philadelphia. She and her husband, Kai, and their children, Alma and Gabriel, live in Sebastopol and are grateful to be part of the St. Stephen’s and Sebastopol community!
